I have always loved fashion and beauty. I love trawling through the glossy magazines thinking how I could create that look for myself; but unfortunately with each baby has come a knock in my confidence and the young girl that would once wear whatever she fancied and would do anything to have whatever was on trend has slowly been lost into the trappings of motherhood.
Maybe it is more to do with age than motherhood, but I find myself questioning my style choice and its it really appropriate for me now.
Since I’ve started blogging it has opened up my eyes to some super stylish women that look fabulous in what they wear and above all else comfortable in their own skin.
It was a blog post I came across yesterday by Kate who writes for Pouting In Heels that struck a cord and has put me on the path to getting my mojo back.
No more slobbing about in my gym gear all day as it’s comfy and easy. I deserve better and hey we only live once so from here on in I’m going to fill everyday with beautiful things that make me happy.
Today I pulled out the pair of dungarees that had been hidden in the wardrobe through fear of looking silly and slapped on some red lipstick; and do you know what it made me feel great!
I’m so the same. Not managed to find my path to mojo just yet though… Xx
Do it!! We only went to the park today but felt so much better for making that little bit of effort x
You look great! I’m only just starting to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes but it’s so easy to just pull on some leggings.. I definitely have to get better at it! x
Thank you so much. Notice I did opt for baggy dungarees as then you can still keep the comfort factor!! X
You look great! I am a big fan of Pouting in Heels too, it is hard to look our best all the time when crawling around on the floor with little ones but when we do it pays off! I also have dungaree envy! Thanks for linking to #sundaystars
Thank you so much. Get out this week and get yourself a pair!! I love mine now X
I’m working on my own mojo, but definitely not convinced I can carry off dungarees – you look great though! It really makes a difference I think to help feel more ‘you’ than so-and-so’s mum…
Give it a go you I’m so glad I did!! Your so right about just being a Mum of somebody. I have so many numbers saying just that in my phone. I’m now going to make more of an effort to get to know each Mum!!
Thank you for the great comment and hope you find a look for you to make you feel special again Xx
You look great! It’s easy to lose our former selves when we become moms, but it’s better for everyone if we don’t. #twinklytuesday
adorable outfit!
Thank you very much X
You look cute! I’m trying to find my mojo too. I at least make myself do my hair and put on a little lip gloss. I’m trying to keep my nails painted but eh…it’s not working out so well lol. #TwinklyTuesday
Thank you for the lovely comment! It’s a work in progress I’m sure you are looking fab xx
Love dungarees; they are comfy and practical but uber cool too! I’m having the same identity crisis myself these days, forgot what my ‘style’ was until I made a conscious effort to go shopping last week.
I know just what you mean! Somehow we get sucked into some idea of what mommy style should be and its difficult to feel free. 🙂 love the red lipstick! #wineandboobs
Thank you, it’s to true! We all need to be ourselves as well as a Mum x
I know exactly what you mean, I spend ages looking at fashion blogs but never the confidence to wear certain things. you look fab in the dungarees, I have just brought a black pair! xx
#TwinklyTuesday
That’s great. Stick a picture up so we can all have a look xx
Good for you! I was hankering after some dungarees the other day and said to my husband I was worried about looking silly. Perhaps I’ll give them a punt now! Thanks for the push! x Ps you look fab, nothing to worry about x
I drove everyone mad with shall I get them. Then I did and put them on and took them off for week!!
I am in love with them now, so just do it, I’m sure you will look great xx
Love the outfit! It can be hard to get your mojo back after babies, good for you for making the decision to get yours back! The better you feel the happier you will be 🙂
Thank you, and your so right it makes you a lot happier which is good for everyone x
I have just never been much of a fashion girl. My motto is life is too short and I’m going to spend it being as comfortable as possible :)). I hate bras but I wear one everyday that’s about the extent of my “uncomfortable” love the pic of you though …very cute outfit. I’m popping over from #wineandboobs.
You look adorable! My challenge is not knowing how to dress my post-birth curves. I used to be able to live in strappy dresses, but I’m too big in the bust now and don’t know how to dress this new me. And makeup? I’ve never figured it out. Maybe I should… Thanks for linking with #TwinklyTuesday.
I’ve always been a ‘plain Jane’ when it comes to fashion. I haven’t a clue about how to accessorise and put together great looking outfits so I’ve always played safe. Jeans and various tops and shoes. I’ve just read an article on feminism so excuse this next part, but is it ourselves or society that makes us want to dress up and be ‘fashionable’? What’s wrong with comfy gym gear? Or jeans? Or leggings? Surely it’s about feeling comfortable and enjoying the day with the people we love? Of course it’s lovely to dress up and feel special every now and then. But everyday? Just a thought.
You do look good in dungarees though. x x
You have got a really good point and I think it’s what makes you feel happy.
It probably sounds really shallow but when I make more of an effort it makes me feel good.
There is way more to life than what people wear thought xx
