I have done a fair bit of travelling over the years, but London always holds a special place in my heart.
I love the hustle and bustle, the eclectic range of people and the wonderful architecture the city has to offer.
We are only about a 30min train ride from central London but don’t visit that often as squeezing on and off the trains with all the children is no mean feat! For us Southbank is always the perfect place as it is only two overground trains away and directly outside Waterloo station.
We went to celebrate my eldest turning 18 and we knew there would be plenty of things for us all to do once we got there.
We we not disappointed as we got there and after a short walk came across a super cool exhibition that offered free badge making and colouring for the children.
As always mine were starving so we had a quick coffee and cake stop before walking along the river.
Once we were refuelled we went exploring and found some cool brightly coloured plastic strips that they had great fun running in and out of, a great sandpit that they had a great time digging in, and our usual trip to the park.
We stood for a while looking at the street entertainers who scared the life out of number four to start with!
Number two loves scooting and skate boarding so we spent a good while by the skatepark watching all the tricks.
After lunch we spent our last bit of time there taking in the sights whilst number one had her first ‘legal’ drink!
A wonderful day was had by all and we will be coming back very soon to check out the Carston Holler exhibition at the Hayward Gallery which looks fantastic.
Looks like a lovely day! Happy 18th, No1 🙂 x
Was a fab day and I will pass in the well wishes!! Thank you X
Looks like you had a fab day out. Only been to London once, (other than for work in the past, so that meant mainly saw only the inside of tube stations and the office) and one of those was a school trip (so many many years ago). Inspired me to perhaps plan a family weekend there – kids would love to see the sights
Oh yes do!! Mine all love a trip to town, there is always so much to see x
We’ve never explored the South Bank will add that one to the bucket list. Congrats on turning 18 to your first born. Its seems like a long way off for Monkey but I am guessing it goes in the blink of an eye! #momsterslink x
Sounds great love all your photos, I love going up to london yet to brave it with all three girls though but I will have too soon! thanks for linking up to #sundaystars
Oh that looks so fun! Love all your pictures too! Makes me want to visit London some day. Some day when my kids are a little older and know more of what’s going on. Thanks so much for linking up with #momsterslink.
I could really fall in love with our capital city reading this post. I’m not very good in London and always find it too much, but the South Bank looks amazing fun for all ages. Congratulations and happy birthday to your 18 year old!
Me too!! I hate the underground and the masses of people.
This is why we love Southbank as it takes you straight into Waterloo and there is always plenty of room to mill around even when it’s busy.
Everytime we go there is something new and exiting xx
We havent been in London for years! I need to go there again! #countrykids
