Howl’o’ween At Chessington World Of Adventure

  

For me Chessington World Of Adventure and Halloween are the perfect combination.  You get all the fun and thrills of the rides with a bit of spooky fun thrown in too!

When we were asked to come along to preview the two brand new Howl’o’ween attractions that they have on offer I was more exited than the children and couldn’t wait to get there to try them out.

We were lucky enough to have an overnight stay in one of the howl’o’ween themed rooms in the Safari Hotel which was out of this world.

The room had been covered with cobwebs and spiders, the lighting had been changed to red and green and the bed linen and curtains were all following the same spooky theme.

   
 

The children were super excited to see all the fabulous decor and were then taken back even more when they opened the curtains to reveal the vastness of the zoo and all the animals wandering around for them to spot.

   
 

Before making our way into the park we sampled some wonderful cocktails and mocktails in the temple bar.  The kids felt very grown up to be able to be sample such lovely drinks.

   

   

They also got the opportunity to get up close and personal with some creepy crawlies.  Number three was very brave and had a go at holding  huge African land snail.

   

Full with refreshments we made our ways to the park to The Curse Of The Lost Tomb.  We were told that this attraction was best suited to children over 8.  Mine all wanted to give it a go so we made our way into the tomb guided by the fantastic actors who’s acting ability was outstanding.  Unfortunately I only made it to the first hurdle and had to make a quick exit with the little ones.  My hubby and number two stayed inside and came out full of beans and had found the whole experience great.  They loved that you have no idea what is going to be around the next corner or who was going to make you jump next!

From here we made our way to the Trick Or Treat Wood.  This is sutiable for the whole family and has much less of a scare factor than the Curse Of The Lost Tomb. 

   

At the start you are given either the trick or the treat route through the wood.  Either way you are guided through a beautifully decorated pathway being stopped by fairies and elves as you go.  Number three got completly wrapped up in the magic of it all and danced along as we went.  At the end there is a healthy treat for the children which ever path you chose.

   
   

To end our evening we had a scrummy buffet style meal back at the Temple Bar.  They offer a wide variety of hot and cold food, a seperate children’s section and a favourite for our family which was the self serve ice cream area.

There was plenty of entertainment on offer in the evening but we had had a long day so made our way back to our room to recharge our batteries for the next day.

Bright and early the next day we made our way down to breakfast where we were greated by King Julian before sitting down to a breakfast fit for a King.

   
 

There was a massive array of food to chose from and the staff were more than accommodating for my little allergy boy.

The breakfast was made even more perfect by the stunning views we could take in whilst eating.

   
 

To round off our trip we went back into the park to spend the day on the rides and look at all the beautiful animals.

Number two and three wanted to head straight to the thrill seeking rides and loved Rameses Revenge and the Black Buccaneer.

   
   

The youngest two enjoyed the Bubble Works and the Carosel.  We all loved looking at the big cats and getting up close to the Penguins.

   
 

We couldn’t get everything we wanted to do done in the day and there is way to much for me to mention here; so I would suggest you get yourselves along this week and try it out for yourselves.

The Howl’o’ween event runs until the 2nd November and the park is open until 8pm so that you can enjoy the thrills and spills in the dark.
