Peppa Pig’s My First Cinema Experience

The cinema with preschool children is never really a combination that I relish.

The thought of small children in the confines of one seat for over an hour in my head is not a good combination so I am always eager to see if there are experiences that will keep my youngest two entertainment for that length of time.

We were lucky enough to go along to the preview of Peppa Pig’s My First Cinema Experience which I was hoping was going to be a hit with Frankie and Oscar as they are both huge fans.

Upon arriving at the Picturehouse Central in Picadilly we joined a whole host of Peppa fans just itching to see what Peppa and her friends were going to get up to on the big screen.

After some fun with face painting, ballon making and meeting Peppa and George themselves we took to our seats and waited for the start.

A cinema full of noisy, giggly children was scilenced as soon as the lights were dimmed and that familiar theme tune filled the room.

Instead of a feature length film My First Cinema Experience is made up of nine episodes that are broken up with little snippets of Peppa’s new friend Daisy that appears on the screen to really engage the audience by getting them singing, dancing and playing games.

Familiar songs such as ‘the wheels on the bus’ and ‘row your boat’ all feature and are a welcome addition to keep wriggly fingers and bottoms happy.

We saw Peppa take off on several new adventures where she has a trip to the zoo, takes a ride on a canal boat, travels all the way to Australia and our favourite  which was a visit to London which sees her taking in all the famous sights such as Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Trafalgar Square that were all seen from a double decker bus that was driven by the queen!

With a running time of just over an hour it was the perfect time for my three and five year old although a few of the younger children got a little restless towards the end.

I won’t let you in in anymore secrets, I will leave it down to you to see what happens on the rest of their adventures when it hits the cinemas on 7th April.

I would love to hear your thoughts so please let me know what you and your little ones think.

  1. My 5 year old still loves Peppa, but I don’t know if she’d like this. Only because she’s been used to watching actual Disney films in the movies for the last year and a half. These pictures are so great! They really captured how into it the kids were.

  2. My granddaughter Isabella is 2 and loves Peppa and her brother loves George. Why well guess what his name is lol
