Taking The Fuss Out Of Camping With Pitch

Last year as a family we caught the bug for festivals and camping and now love them both in equal measures.
In this technology driven age I found the freedom and simpleness of camping such a refreshing change and it certainly helped us to connect so much better as a family because of it.

However it can have its downsides and for us top of the list had to be transporting and pitching the tent!

Being a large family means any trip away equates to a car full of everything, so imagine adding to that a tent, bedding and everything else they goes with it…it was a cosy trip to say the least.

Then came the stress of trying to keep an eye on the little ones whilst cluelessly trying to errect a tent and blow up air beds.

It was no mean feat and to say that tempers were frayed would be an understatement.

Thankfully this weekend we are lucky enough to be able to try out a fabulous package from the super friendly new company Pitch at Elderflower Fields this weekend who offer camping and glamping experiences that allow you to enjoy the wonders of the great outdoors in a little more luxury than your usual tent.

Pitch are a small business that have set up through their own love of camping and the great outdoors allowing you to experience all the fun of camping without the stress.

All you need to do is pick the amount of tents you require, choice where you want to pitch up and they come along to do all the hard work for you.

They will bring along their stunning bells tents with a thick mat flooring and air beds which will all be set up for your arrival.

Depending on the package you choose it is not only the tent they supply. You can also add bedding, soft furnishings, lighting, tables and chairs, stoves, BBQ, cooking equipment, crockery, outdoor games and most importantly for my daughter…fairy lights and bunting!

Take a look here at all the different packages and prices that are on offer.

Be it a festival or a week at the beach, a wedding or a corporate event Pitch can tailor one of their packages to suit your personal needs.

Keep an eye out on the blog this weekend for what we think about this fab tents!

Last Chance To Grab Elderflower Fields Tickets

This year will be the third year that we have visited the fantastic Elderflower Fields festival in the heart of Pippingford Park, Sussex.

The first year we went along for the day and fell in love with it so much that we couldn’t wait to book ready for the following year where we wanted to imerse ourselves in the whole experience by camping for the whole weekend.

For me this is the perfect starter festival as its on a slightly smaller scale than most which allows you to really kick back, relax and enjoy everything it has to offer.

Your weekend can be as chilled or as full as you want to make it and with all activities included in the ticket price the children won’t be bored for a minute.

The tickets are selling out fast for this years event and you only have until the 7th May to purchase yours.

If you fancy dipping your toe into the family festival scene and coming along as a day guest or if you want to try out the whole experience under canvas I can whole heartily recommend you start here!

Relax And Regroup At Camp Bestival

Last year was our first time at Camp Bestival and we were a little overwhelmed with the amount of fabulous stuff going on; So much so that there were a few areas that we didn’t really make the most of, with the Slow Motion area being one of them.

Last year was all about the kids for us really and all our activities were planned around them. What would have been fabulous would be to get a little break from the excitement and take a little time out for ourselves.

Slow Motion has a range of massage treatments from sports massage to reflexology, Reiki sessions that you can go along to on your own or with your children or a relaxing and revitalising Shiatsu massage that will help you restore the calm and leave you ready to enjoy the rest of the festival.

The indulgence doesn’t stop there though. The Transformation Station allows you to get away from the communal showers and hop into a solar power shower and treat yourself to the use of a hairdryer and straighteners which I know is something missed by a lot of people when camping!

From here you can head over and enjoy getting your hair braided, some nail art done or get really festival ready with some super cool body and glitter art by the talented Jingo.

I know that after a few days of one to many G&Ts and lots of indulgent food my body was craving something a little healthier and this is the perfect place to grab some healthy and nutritious food and drink.

Something my husband was keen to try last year was the nature run. It’s a perfect way to set yourself up for the day and allows you to step off site for a while and take in the beauty that surrounds Lulworth Castle with the chance to clear your head and slip in some peaceful meditation too.

I know this is a must for us this year and I’m sure something that would be a big pull for many busy parents.

Getting In The Festival Spirit With BFLF And Camp Bestival On Tour

A whole year is a pretty long time to wait in between festivals so thankfully Camp Bestival and Big Fish Little Fish have got together this year to create a tour that allows everyone to experience the fun of  festival for a few hours before the summer and get ready for this years festival theme of ‘pop stars and rock stars’.

Last year we spend a lot of time next to the BFLF stage at Camp Bestival and the boys absolutely loved dancing around and jumping on and of the stage to all the great music they put on.

We were lucky enough to go along to the tour at Dreamland in Margate last week which is one of my favourite seaside attractions.

The cool, retro theme of Dreamland was the perfect setting for a children’s rave with lots of open space around the roller disco area that had been transformed into a super cool dance floor for the kids…well the adults too!

The dance floor was packed with people dancing playing with the tents and tunnels that were set out and eagerly awaiting the bubble machine and glitter cannons to go off!

For the really tiny ones there were quieter areas set up away from the hustle and bustle of it all.

It wouldn’t have that festival feel without face painting and even though my guys weren’t interest there were some very impressive faces walking around.

The boys spent a lot of time over at the craft station getting tattoos, making superheroes masks and creating masterpieces with the play dough.

In addition to all this fun families had the opportunity to grab some ‘pop stars and rock stars’ themed props and take a photo at the booth that gave them the chance to win one of three family tickets to Camp Bestival 17 which would make for the most fantastic prize!

The next event is in Hackney on 23rd April and if is set to be another cracker if you can get along to it.

If not please take a look at everything Camp Bestival has to offer. I can’t put into words what a mind blowing experience we had last year and this years is set to top it!

Bringing The Giggles To Camp Bestival

The acts for Camp Bestival this year have been coming thick and fast. I have already told you a little about the fantastic music line up, and the kind of things you can expect to see for the kids.

Now it’s time to let you know who is going to be bring the belly laughs to the Big Top on Sunday night with the comedy acts.

The witty and extremely funny Reginald D Hunter and Gary Delaney will be taking to the stage as well as Kerry Goodman who is a personal favourite of mine.

I first saw her on the hit comedy Derek written by Ricky Gervis where she played a care home manager in charge of some very temperamental patients and staff!

The comedy isn’t just for the adults as there will be the Kidocracy interactive theatre that will allow the children to rule an island, leaving absolutely everything down to them…can you imagine!

Boohoo Kids Spring/Summer 17

Around Christmas time last year I was introduced to the newly launched children’s wear range from Boohoo.

We reviewed some lovely pieces for number three who was really taken with the on trend, affordable clothes they had to offer.

Last week I was asked to the press preview of their spring/summer 17 collection that in my opinion has improved even more than last season.

My attention was immediately drawn towards the girls section that had a real festival vibe to it.

There were lots of floaty, floral prints, off the shoulder tops and dress and plenty of sparkle that always goes down well with the girls.

Embroidered pieces and lace detailing are key this season and Boohoo has incoperated this within their range alongside simple classics such as Breton stripes that are always a wardrobe staple.

My daughter has a real love for shoes…I can’t think where she gets it from!

Boohoo have a great range of strappy sandals that will be perfect for the much longed for warmer weather and sparkly pumps that will be real eye catchers.

Next up was the boys and they certainly haven’t been left out here.

Summer brights for the pool and stand out t-shirts and shirts for those long summer days are a plenty.

If your boys like something a little more neutral then there is a great range of cosy t-shirts and shorts in muted green and beige tones that are bang on trend whilst remaining wearable which is all that more important when thinking about boys.

The shoes range from more formal styles to everyday trainers that fit perfectly with the clothing that Boohoo have pieced together.

Number three was super excited to see all the new pieces and already has a long list for her summer wardrobe and j will certainly be trying out some clothes for the boys this time.

I would love to know what you all think!

Spreading The Cost Of Camp Bestival

Every few weeks new acts get announced for Camp Bestival and my excitement grows even more with each announcement.

This year is set to be one of the best ones yet and with the Lightning Seeds, Julian Clary and many more acts being added to the already fabulous line up it really will be an event not to be missed.

With a very big family I know all to well about the costs of events such as this and having to find the funds to pay it all in one go could be a little daunting.

This is why Camp Bestival have a payment plan that make it an affordable event for everyone by spreading the costs across fifteen weeks and making an adult ticket an average of £12 a week.

Simply sacrificing your morning coffee could have you well on the way to getting a ticket to a truly memorable break that will create memories that are going to last a lot longer than that latte!
