Protecting Young Eyes With Smart Buy Glasses

When it comes to sunglasses for me it is fashion first before anything else.

I’ve never been one to spend a lot on glasses as I change my mind all the time as to the style I like and I am also terrible at loosing them!

I have always made do with high street glasses that normally don’t cost more than £10 and for the children it is pretty much the same thing.

Picking up a pair that they are drawn to in the supermarket has always been how I shopped for them as I know they aren’t going to last five minutes before they get broken or lost.

It wasn’t until the other day when I had to make an eye appointment for Frankie that I was informed of how important it is to look after our little ones eyes.

Below are some of the reasons why we need to protect our eyes…especially when the children are little:

  • UV damage is not only harmful to our skin, it can also affect our eyes too. I mean none of us would let the children out without suncream would we.
  • Half of the damage of our lifetimes sun expose is in the first twenty years of life so it’s really important to protect ourselves from a young age.
  • Longterm effects of UV damage to the eyes can cause problems such as cataracts in old age.

There are so many things we can do to prevent this from happening so when Smart Buy Glasses asked me to try out some glasses for me and the children I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to get something trendy yet protective.

Smart Buy Glasses offer a huge range of designer glasses with up to a massive 50% discount on brands such as Ray-Ban, Tom Ford, Oakley, Ralph Lauren and many more.

Ray-Ban have always been a favourite of mine for their timeless classic designs that never age.

I picked the Erica that have a really attractive oval shaped lens and a full frame.

They will be perfect for any occasion and will never go out of fashion.
For the kids I went for Ray Bans too as they are both durable and stylish and come with super bright cases so even my forgetful children would misplace them!

Izzy loved the mirrored lenses and the namesake of the Izzy Junior while Frankie thought he was super cool in his plastic frame Ray Ban Juniors.

If you are looking for a new pair of designer sunnies for yourself or looking to protect the eyes of your precious little ones then you will be spoiled for choice with Smart Buy Glasses.

Boohoo Kids Spring/Summer 17

Around Christmas time last year I was introduced to the newly launched children’s wear range from Boohoo.

We reviewed some lovely pieces for number three who was really taken with the on trend, affordable clothes they had to offer.

Last week I was asked to the press preview of their spring/summer 17 collection that in my opinion has improved even more than last season.

My attention was immediately drawn towards the girls section that had a real festival vibe to it.

There were lots of floaty, floral prints, off the shoulder tops and dress and plenty of sparkle that always goes down well with the girls.

Embroidered pieces and lace detailing are key this season and Boohoo has incoperated this within their range alongside simple classics such as Breton stripes that are always a wardrobe staple.

My daughter has a real love for shoes…I can’t think where she gets it from!

Boohoo have a great range of strappy sandals that will be perfect for the much longed for warmer weather and sparkly pumps that will be real eye catchers.

Next up was the boys and they certainly haven’t been left out here.

Summer brights for the pool and stand out t-shirts and shirts for those long summer days are a plenty.

If your boys like something a little more neutral then there is a great range of cosy t-shirts and shorts in muted green and beige tones that are bang on trend whilst remaining wearable which is all that more important when thinking about boys.

The shoes range from more formal styles to everyday trainers that fit perfectly with the clothing that Boohoo have pieced together.

Number three was super excited to see all the new pieces and already has a long list for her summer wardrobe and j will certainly be trying out some clothes for the boys this time.

I would love to know what you all think!

Kids Clothes Arrive At Boohoo:Review

Boohoo has made waves with the online shopping world for a fair while now.

Their high fashion clothing at affordable prices has gone down really well and as someone who has bought from them before I can vouch for this myself.

When they asked me to try out the new Boohoo Kids range I knew there would be one very happy little girl that would be more than happy to give their range a try.

I was a little worried that the range would be a mini version of the adult clothing but I was really pleased when I found a good selection of age appropriate clothing that was still bang on trend.

We looked through pages of cold shoulder dresses, skinny jeans in a variety of colours, sloganed tees and sweatshirts, cute bombers, fur trimmed parkas and so much more.

Number three opted for a pair of high waisted jeans with a sloganed sweatshirt and bomber jacket to match.

The light grey sweatshirt was super cosy and a perfect fit. The real pull for her was the ‘Instaglam’ slogan which would be perfect for any social media addict such as her!

The high waisted jeans were a little on the big side as she prefers a tighter fit; but being a real skinny minnie this is something we always have issues with.

Here favourite item was the very versatile bomber jacket. The zip detail and orange lining took me back to the 90’s which has come right back round with this trend.

For me Boohoo kids have got it just right for my preteen with trendy, wearable clothes at great prices.

She is already back on their site adding bits to her Christmas list!

Lilly And Sid:Clothes That Allow Kids To Be Kids

Lilly And Sid:Clothes That Allow Kids To Be Kids

Wearability is always top of my list when it come to kids clothes.

There is nothing worse than the children being restricted by clothing as it makes for unhappy children and stressed parents.

A while ago the lovely people at Lilly and Sid sent me a few items to try and all I can say is both me and number four had smiles on our faces!

Their cotton garments are super soft and cosy, the contrasting prints and bright colours are always so eye catching and for me is one of the ways you can always spot a Lilly and Sid piece.

Bugs and dinosaurs and always a hit with number four and being able to give my little ones clothes that have things they love featured on them clearly go down well.

As well as outstanding clothes their customer service is second to none and whenever I’ve purchased anything from them the delivery is quick, efficient and I can’t imagine any ask being to big for them.

With Christmas fast approaching I can’t wait to see what items they have to slip under the tree!

A Chocolaty Store Opening At Jacadi Richmond

Last year I was introduced to the children’s clothes brand Jacadi at their Hampstead branch and was immediately taken by their traditional, timeless classic pieces that are made to perfection.

The brand has gone from strength to strength since hitting the UK and a brand new store has just opened in Richmond that we went to check out last night.

I decided to have a bit of quality time with number three who was more than happy to join me and see what they had to offer.

The store was a little ones dream with a Charlie And The Chocolate Factory theme complete with chocolate fountains, big sticky lollies and a real life Umpa Lumpa!

It was at this point I was extremely pleased that I hadn’t got the little ones as there is no way I would have been able to keep their chocolate covered fingers away from the beautiful clothes!

The stores collection was as stunning as I had expected.

For the boys their were beautiful soft knits that could be teamed perfectly with smart shirts and tailored trousers.

For the girls their were cute dresses and matching cardigans in bright colours that are always welcome at this time of year.

The section that always catches my eye though is for the really tiny ones.

I like babies in outfits that are firstly made for comfort as well as looking good and this is what Jacadi have down to a tee.

Jacadi falls into the upper price bracket of children’s clothing but they really are items that are made to last and with their classic designs could be passed down through the family for years to come without aging at all.

I know that I would be super happy to find a little blue gift box for any of my little ones under the tree this Christmas.

*I was supplied with a gift token for attending this event and they are all my own, honest opinions.

Stand Out From The Crowd With Lil Sprayground Backpacks

Last year I wrote a post on the trials and tribulations of having a new bag for school every term and how I didn’t cave into the pressure.

This year however bags were needed and the search started.

Instead of going for the run of the mill superhero design or the favourited Disney princesses we looked outside the box and were really taken with the look of this new mini range from Sprayground.

Sprayground are a relatively new company that have made a rapid growth over the last few years and have become a name that several celebrities favour.

With their success on the adult market they are now reaching out to all the mini fashionistas out there with their range of mini backpacks that are perfect for little ones that like something a bit different.

The hard wearing, weather resistant material is perfect for transporting everything you need and the internal compartments make it easy for them to keep themselves organised.

The bright colours make them majorly appealing and easy to spot in a cloakroom full of abandoned bags.

One other great attribute is the fact that only a limited number are made, so you are really left with something individual.

With a fair few designs a simply can’t pick a favourite. What is yours?

Back To School With Kickers Event

I was one of the unlucky ones that was refused a pair of Kickers as a child and I’m sure this has left a little scar for life!

That is why when I had to opportunity to go along to the meet up with the georgous ladies at Mothers Meetings for their Kickers ‘Back To School’ event I knew it was one not to be missed.

We walked into a room full to the brim of super cool mummies and their little ones dancing along to some great tunes, having a bite to eat, getting faces painted and having a good catch up.

Scattered around the room Kickers were showcasing their back to school range with the old favourites and a few new eye catching designs that I had not seen before.

The rounded design and thick stitching was still a predominant feature and I loved seeing the addition of some two tone brouges that really caught my eye.

It was refreshing to see that they have still keep their trademark red and green labels and that longed for tag that I never got to get my hands on!

After singing along to some African nursery rhymes the little ones were over the moon to get to take home some Kickers of their own to set them up for their return to nursery and school.

And I left safe in the knowledge they wouldn’t hold a grudge about not owning a pair of Kickers in their childhood like I have!
