How To Get Present Buying For Kids Right!

[AD] The kids are back at school now which means most people who have young children will now have a calendar full of weekend parties.!And dare I say it – Christmas will be upon us before we know it – which means finding presents for a whole variety of different tastes!

Wether you are buying for your own, or for other peoples children it can be an absolute minefield. Nobody wants to buy something that is going to be looked at once and then tossed to the side, and although I hold my hand up to this one – we all like to think a little more thought than some money in a card has gone into the gift buying process.

So with this in mind, here are a few tips to think about before you get buying:

Just Ask – A pretty simple solution here in theory is to just ask! Kids aren’t usually backwards in coming forwards so ask some leading questions, find out what interests they have or even have a look around for a list they may have been scribbling down somewhere.

Check With The Parents – A quick chat with the child’s parents is always a good idea. It might be to see if they have any ideas, maybe they can give you some tips on the things they might like, or simply just to check to see if you have an idea that you think would be good to go with.

Check Out The Top Sellers – Each and every year there will be a list of toys compiled that are set to be the best sellers for the year. There is bound to be something there to suit most tastes so it’s always a great place to start.

Something To Last – For me buying a present that is going to have a long life span is super important. A toy that can be enjoyed for years to come by lots of different children is always a winner in my books.

Something To Help Them Learn – Kids learn though play, so something that is going to spark their imagination and get their creative juices flowing will always be a winner.

Something That Can Be Shared – Now I’m not suggesting here that you but a child a ‘shared’ present, I am thinking thinking more along the lines of a gift that can be played with, with others. This then helps to get children used to sharing and in turn making it a more fun present.

Let Someone Else Do The Work – There are some amazing sites out there that take the hard work out of it for you. Wicked Uncle has everything set up into categories so that it is easy to find something special and a little different too!

Saftey First – As much as possible, choose non-plastic toys made of sustainable materials, free of BPAs, phthalates, PVC or toxic chemicals and dyes. I know this can sometime be a tricky one, but it’s definitely a good move if you can.

Gift An Experience – This always has an always will be my favourite gift. Giving someone the opportunity to create memories is a priceless present to me.

Buy A Book – If all else fails then go for a book. Children can never have to many books and it’s always a fail safe option.

I would love to know if you have any tips on present buying?

Finding The Best Kidswear Online

We might not be able to get out of the house to go shopping at the moment, but that doesn’t stop little bodies and toes growing and needing clothing.

We have certainly been opting for comfort over the past few weeks of lockdown and with the boys ordinarily living in school uniform and skinny jeans I found myself having to look for clothes that were more suitable for spending time indoors and out in garden.

Comfy tracksuit bottoms, shorts, T-shirt’s and of course swimming trunks for all this good weather we have been blessed with have become our staples and instead of perusing the shops as we usually would I have taken all my clothes shopping online.

It has really opened my eyes up to the vast way to can shop online and I have thoroughly enjoyed using my usual stores as well as discovering new ways to shop.

I have always been a fan of shopping small and Instagram is a great way to find unique children’s wear whist supporting small businesses which is even more important during this time.

There are also a huge range of preloaded sites available where you can pick up some real bargains as we all know how quickly children grow out of clothes and shoes, or in the boys case trash them within no time at all!

When my older children were younger I did a fair amount of shopping from catalogues which have now been moved online and it’s not something I really thought about before, but they give you a great variety of clothing choices for all ages and most of these fall into the buy now pay later clothing catalogues which might be an option some of you might want to look at.

Gifts For Teens From Prezzybox.com

Teens and pre-teens are notoriously the hardest group of people to buy for, and for me it’s especially hard when it comes to little stocking fillers for Christmas morning.

Mine always have a stocking until well into their teens so that nobody is left out from that exciting treat of dipping into the long sock filled with goodies.

This year I have got together with prezzybox.com and managed to find some fun, affordable and quirky gifts for Izzy and Archie that I know they are going to absolutely love.

Izzy who is twelve loves anything pink, glittery or social media related and they had gifts aplenty to fit this.

The Iris The Unicorn Travel Mug which will be perfect for keeping warm in this freezing weather, a Neon Magic Hairbrush that is a super vibrant colour that fits perfectly inside her schoolbag and the one that I think is going to be a favourite is a Selfie Light that attaches to the back of your phone to create that perfect selfie.

Archie the moody teen who has just turned fifteen is now and has always been so hard to buy for. I love the fact that he rarely asks for gifts, but this is not much help when trying to get ready for Christmas.

However it only took a few minutes to find some gifts that were just perfect for him.

What teen doesnt love sweets! well mine certainly do and the tub of Personalised Retro Sweets is going to go down a storm I’m sure. Next up was a set of six Emoji Golf Balls that come in three different colours with a cool emoji on each ball. Lastly he was a real fan of the fidget spinner when the craze hit a few moths ago so I went one better with the Baffle Puzzle that is a little like a Rubik cube in a cylindrical shape.

Prezzybox.com not only caters for teens but for all different ages, genders and occasions and can be easily ordered from the comfort of your home to avoid that manic high street shopping. It’s the perfect site to stock up on different gifts at this time of year and there really is something for everyone.

Quirky Gifts For Teens With Qwerkity

Presents for teenage kids are notoriously hard to buy for, with my fourteen year old son being the hardest of all.

I should be happy with the fact that he rarely asks for anything but when it comes to birthdays and Christmas it can be a real pain as I don’t even know where to start.

I always end up with the usual video games, smelly sets and chocolate which gets boring for me to buy so must be really boring for him to receive.

Luckily inspiration came my way in the form of a great website that has a whole host of different gifts for teenagers  that would please even the trickiest customer!

Archie’s room is usually awash with piles of rubbish and dirty clothes so what would fit in more perfectly then a stool disguised as a stack of pizza boxes.

The incredible cardboard stool pizza box is a super cool stool make of corrugated cardboard that fits together in nine easy steps.

It is just as easy to fold up as it is to assemble and can hold up to an unbelievable 200kg.

This would be such a cool addition to any teens room and has been a real talking point for all his friends.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t decide to recreate one with real boxes!

Boohoo Kids Spring/Summer 17

Around Christmas time last year I was introduced to the newly launched children’s wear range from Boohoo.

We reviewed some lovely pieces for number three who was really taken with the on trend, affordable clothes they had to offer.

Last week I was asked to the press preview of their spring/summer 17 collection that in my opinion has improved even more than last season.

My attention was immediately drawn towards the girls section that had a real festival vibe to it.

There were lots of floaty, floral prints, off the shoulder tops and dress and plenty of sparkle that always goes down well with the girls.

Embroidered pieces and lace detailing are key this season and Boohoo has incoperated this within their range alongside simple classics such as Breton stripes that are always a wardrobe staple.

My daughter has a real love for shoes…I can’t think where she gets it from!

Boohoo have a great range of strappy sandals that will be perfect for the much longed for warmer weather and sparkly pumps that will be real eye catchers.

Next up was the boys and they certainly haven’t been left out here.

Summer brights for the pool and stand out t-shirts and shirts for those long summer days are a plenty.

If your boys like something a little more neutral then there is a great range of cosy t-shirts and shorts in muted green and beige tones that are bang on trend whilst remaining wearable which is all that more important when thinking about boys.

The shoes range from more formal styles to everyday trainers that fit perfectly with the clothing that Boohoo have pieced together.

Number three was super excited to see all the new pieces and already has a long list for her summer wardrobe and j will certainly be trying out some clothes for the boys this time.

I would love to know what you all think!

Kids Clothes Arrive At Boohoo:Review

Boohoo has made waves with the online shopping world for a fair while now.

Their high fashion clothing at affordable prices has gone down really well and as someone who has bought from them before I can vouch for this myself.

When they asked me to try out the new Boohoo Kids range I knew there would be one very happy little girl that would be more than happy to give their range a try.

I was a little worried that the range would be a mini version of the adult clothing but I was really pleased when I found a good selection of age appropriate clothing that was still bang on trend.

We looked through pages of cold shoulder dresses, skinny jeans in a variety of colours, sloganed tees and sweatshirts, cute bombers, fur trimmed parkas and so much more.

Number three opted for a pair of high waisted jeans with a sloganed sweatshirt and bomber jacket to match.

The light grey sweatshirt was super cosy and a perfect fit. The real pull for her was the ‘Instaglam’ slogan which would be perfect for any social media addict such as her!

The high waisted jeans were a little on the big side as she prefers a tighter fit; but being a real skinny minnie this is something we always have issues with.

Here favourite item was the very versatile bomber jacket. The zip detail and orange lining took me back to the 90’s which has come right back round with this trend.

For me Boohoo kids have got it just right for my preteen with trendy, wearable clothes at great prices.

She is already back on their site adding bits to her Christmas list!
