I decorated my living room a few years ago now but there is just some thing about it that doesn’t look finished.
I went for the extremely popular grey tones as it seemed to be a colourthat wasn’t moving anywhere fast, is a calming and neural colour and is super versatile which is important to me as I get bored very quickly.
I had gone for a Scandi vibe with white and wooden accessories but my love of vibrant colours and something fun was missing and what I felt was needed to complete the room.
Red Candy had asked me to select a couple of items from their fantastic online shop and to be honest this was no mean feat!
Their site is full of fun, colourful, quirky accessories and gifts to fill any room in your home.
From dinner plates to dinosaur lamps there is something for everyone and anything you chose is sure to be a conversation starter.
I went for a stunning cotton lampshade from Love Frankie.
The classic design and cloud grey overlay holds a fab gold PVC lining that radiates georgous hues around the room, creating a really warm feel.
When it comes to interiors at the moment you can’t fail to see that tropical themes are a huge thing.
From palm leaves to pineapples, bright prints and cacti they are pretty much everywhere.
It’s such a fun trend that I had to follow and to go alongside my pineapple that my husband hates I couldn’t resist this gold cactus vase.
This can be used as a traditional base and filled with flowers or simply left as it is which is just how I like it!
If you are looking for some cool accessories for your own home or a special gift for someone else then Red Candy really does have a huge range of items that are just that little bit different and will certainly give you something unique at affordable prices.
Just before Christmas last year I was invited to the store opening of the French children’s wear brand Jacadi.
I wasn’t a brand I had heard much about before but I was really taken by their simple, classic designs with a modern twist.
It appears that it is not only me that has been won over by this brand as they have very deservingly just won the prestigious title of ‘Best Baby Designer Brand’ and came in at a good third place in ‘Kids Best Footwear’ in Junior Magazine Design Awards 2016.
There was a lot of strong competition in both these categories so they did superbly to be placed so highly.
If you would like to take a look for yourself at some of their beautiful pieces then pop over to their newly launched website or get yourselves along to their new store that is due to open at the beginning of September, which is perfect timing to start thinking about your little ones Autumn and Winter wardrobes!
A while ago a wrote a post on treating yourself without spending a fortune. One thing I said I was going to do was to add accessories to my old wardrobe to bring much loved staples back to life again.
For me one of the easiest ways to do this is to add a scarf. It can completely change the look of an outfit in an instant and can be really inexpensive.
When I was asked by the lovely ladies at Flossy’s Boutique to try out some items from their new range I couldn’t resist!
This friendly, family run business sell a great selection of scarves, purses and makeup bags at really affordable prices.
There are a variety of different prints available to suit any taste and could be mixed and match to brighten up any outfit.
I was sent a pretty scarf with a bird print and matching purse all wrapped beautifully which always makes things that little extra special.
The purse has a seperate coin section and space for your cards. If you want to show off the fancy design it could easily store a few essentials and could be a great alternative to carry a handbag.
The scarf is made from a lovely soft fabric that drapes perfectly and doesn’t crease one bit.
I have my eye min a great purple, anchor print scarf next!
Pop over and take a look at the other designs for yourself as I’m sure there will be something there to catch your eye.
I was given these items for the purpose of this review and they are all my own honest opinion.
I have always loved fashion and beauty. I love trawling through the glossy magazines thinking how I could create that look for myself; but unfortunately with each baby has come a knock in my confidence and the young girl that would once wear whatever she fancied and would do anything to have whatever was on trend has slowly been lost into the trappings of motherhood.
Maybe it is more to do with age than motherhood, but I find myself questioning my style choice and its it really appropriate for me now.
Since I’ve started blogging it has opened up my eyes to some super stylish women that look fabulous in what they wear and above all else comfortable in their own skin.
It was a blog post I came across yesterday by Kate who writes for Pouting In Heels that struck a cord and has put me on the path to getting my mojo back.
No more slobbing about in my gym gear all day as it’s comfy and easy. I deserve better and hey we only live once so from here on in I’m going to fill everyday with beautiful things that make me happy.
Today I pulled out the pair of dungarees that had been hidden in the wardrobe through fear of looking silly and slapped on some red lipstick; and do you know what it made me feel great!
