Number three was up at 5am this morning full of excitement about our trip to Kidzania today. It was their first year celebrating Christmas in London and we couldn’t wait to go along and join in with the fun they had to offer.
We arrived at Westfields Shepards Bush and once inside easily found Kidzania. We were greeted by two smiley faces who pointed us in the direction of the lift which lead us into the reception that is set up as an airport check in.
We were given security tags for ourselves and the children which would also be used for the children to check in and out of their activities.
Once passing the airport security we entered the fabulous town just for the children. There is absolutely everything you can imagine from hospitals to police stations, burger bars to hairdressers and so much more.
Number four has dreams of becoming a policeman so he was over the moon when he got to don his policeman’s uniform and act out being a real policeman. 
Number three didn’t know where to start first and we lost her for most of the four hour session whilst she tried her hand at hairdressing, modelling, acting, burger making, ice cream creating and lots lots more!
I was a little concerned that there wouldn’t be a lot to keep number five amused but there was plenty. He enjoyed walking around with the others looking in on the children taking part in the activities, there was a fantastic playhouse full to the brim with everything you could want to create your own little home with the added bonus of a padded room that they could jump around in and a bath that is converted into sensory trampoline.
In the room opposite they could colour, make some music or sit quietly and play with a puzzle.
Number four loved becoming a scientist and making his own bubbles.
We had a few pit stops to refuel and there is plenty of food on offer. The diner offers pastas, pizza and burgers. Sandwiches, cakes and coffee can be bought from the coffee shop. We opted for a burger from the Gormet Burger Kitchen whist number three was inside preparing her own.
If you are lucky enough to go along with older children there is an adult only area where you can relax in a child free environment. We had a peek in a it looked great!
After lunch we snuck in a few more activities, took part in the Christmas trail and enjoyed watching the Christmas parade which had been opened the day before with six Renault Twizy cars that were full of the festive spirit and dressed as reindeers. They are still some to be found round Kidzania. I enjoyed taking part in the singing and dancing much to the embarrassment of the children!
The four hours flew by and we could of happily spent another four or more there. We were lucky to visit during the Christmas period as the streets and shops were all decorated beautifully and there was a real festive feel in the air.
Kidzania really does span a huge age group and is a fabulous way to get children to think about what they may want to do in the future and helps to teach them the value of money.
It’s hands off for the parents and really is run by the children. If you fancy having a go yourself they have a special adult only session on the 17th December. You can go and let your inner child out and try out the profession you always wished you had chosen!
I really have only covered a small amount that Kidzania has to offer and I urge you all to go along and experience it for yourselves.
